Nikolai Frerichs

Amorph

Amorphous means “formless” and “without definable shape”. Amorphous material is a material in which the atoms do not have an ordered structure but form an irregular pattern and thus avail of a near-order as well as a remote order. Glass is a typically amorphous material. The photo series interprets an aesthetic visualisation of amorphous states. Nikolai Frerichs worked with multiple glass plates that react differently to their surroundings, as well as with black wire rods which simulate a perspective where there is none.
