"Eldorado" is a work based on my immediate encounter with the recent remnants of the industrial era in Eastern Germany. I intended to give a "second life" to the obsolete machine parts by treating them as autonomous objects. Removing the objects from their original spatial context and placing them in their own fictional context by using digital extraction, rotation, and planar reflection upsets their inherent parameters such as size, proportion, and function. Wreckage is turned into sculpture.
